The AGM was held in October, and after 21 years Col Sylvia Short stood down as the chair. We thanked her for all her commitment, hard work and leadership over the years. Jill Mackeen was elected as the new chair. A new treasurer, deputy treasurer, and committee were also elected. Many thanks to those who have stepped down for all their hard work and commitment.
A memorial silence was held for Joyce Storton and Susan Primsloo.
Christmas Lunch was held at The Queens Hotel, Chester on 9 December. Friends old and new sat
down to a lovely lunch and a good time was had by all. There was the usual raffle with many nice prizes.
Events for 2018 include the spring lunch on 28 April 2018, and Christmas Lunch on 1 December 2018.
Chester Branch reunion will be held at Tillington Hall Hotel, Eccleshall Road, Stafford, ST16 1JJ from Friday 7 September 2018 to Monday 10 September. Activities include a visit to the Black Country Museum on 8 September and a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum on 9 September. A wine reception and gala dinner will be held on the Saturday night. Please apply to Chester Branch for more details.
Jurassic Coast Branch

On 14 June 2017 fourteen Jurassic Coast Branch members attended a garden party hosted by HRH The Countess of Wessex in the gardens of her home in Bagshot Park. We were fortunate to enjoy a glorious sunny day and many attendees opted to have a tour around the gardens.
The Jurassic Coast Branch AGM and luncheon was held at The Hotel Miramar in Bournemouth on Saturday 21 October 2017. There were 22 attending including seven partners. We were well looked after by the hotel and we enjoyed a very nice lunch. This year it was decided not to have a raffle but to encourage our members to bring something homemade to sell, which plenty of members did. It went down very well with a good selection of jams, marmalades and chutneys, glass Christmas tree
ornaments, and one or two plants.
Jurassic Coast Branch forthcoming events for 2018
include Corps Day, which will be held on Sunday 8 April at St Lawrence Church, Upwey, followed by lunch in the Wishing Well. A day trip to Bath is planned for Saturday 23 June, and a walking holiday to St Ives in Cornwall in October.
The 2018 AGM and luncheon will be held on Saturday 20 October at the Eastbury Hotel in Sherborne, Dorset.
