NEW OFFICER COMMANDING FOR BRIDLINGTON AIR CADETS
Warrant Officer Rob Hill has recently handed over the command of 252 (Bridlington) Squadron to Pilot Officer Rosie Gregson.
Rob has overseen 252 (Bridlington) Squadron since February 2012, after moving into the area. Previously he had been the Warrant Officer with 1324 (Hawker Blackburn) Squadron in Brough and spent 30 years in the RAF as an RAF Policeman before joining the Air Cadet organisation.
Rosie joined the Bridlington Air Cadets at the age of 12. When she first joined, she was asked what
she wanted to achieve and said she wanted to do as much as possible, be in the Squadron Drum Corps and have fun. During her time in the cadets, she managed to achieve her Master Cadets Award and the rank of Cadet Warrant Officer. She also gained the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, represented the Air Cadets at National Level Drumming at various events, plus lots of other awards. She has also been on numerous camps and even managed to get in a bit of flying, together with training the younger cadets on basic aviation techniques.
During her time in the cadets, she managed
to achieve her Master Cadets Award and the rank
Officer Adjutant.
A presentation was also made to Mrs Gregson,
who has been carrying out the duties of Adjutant for the last couple of years. She will now return to her post as Squadron Secretary on the Civilian Welfare Committee.

North Region Inter Wing Sports Regeneration
By Warrant Officer Tony Brooker
It was great to see North Region pushing its aspiration to put sport back in the programme starting with Mixed gender 5- A- Side Football Tournament at Rochdale.
This was a great start to giving three age groups of cadets the chance to represent their respective wings at sport and to attain a Wing Blue. Central and East Yorkshire Wing, as always, rose to
the challenge and attended with a team in all three age groups with cadets participating from squadrons all over the wing.
Most of the cadets were meeting each other for the first time, but they all had the same goals, to do their best, be part of a team and to represent the wing.
It was a superb day had by all; although the results were not favourable, the tournament in terms of team spirit, respect, friendship and personal achievement of all the cadets was
a success. What was also great to see was the healthy competitiveness of all the wings re-kindled within North Region the way it was before Covid lockdown.
As a member of staff supervising the teams alongside the Wing Sports Officer it was clear to see that cadets were having fun and playing the games in the spirit sport should be played, with passion, determination and, above all, respect.
