With the cancellation of many shows in 2020, The NVS turned to technology to enable our members to have a little fun and show and share what they had grown. We held our “Virtual Show 2020” the first week of September and we were delighted with the response. We kept the schedule straightforward with 9 adult classes and 1 junior class.
The concept was simple, each exhibitor choosing the class (es) they wished to enter, staging the exhibit at home, photographing the exhibit and submitting the entry via email. The Show Secretary was Raymond Higgins, and he placed each entry in a specific album per class with a unique number, so the competition was judged anonymously.
Our judges for the show were Ian Stocks and Jim Williams who had the difficult task to judge the 147 entries.
“The entries were absolutely brilliant with a lot of excellent quality in them which would have won any normal show. Exhibitors should be commended for their efforts and commitment, The potato class had some fantastic plates, and we decided that the winning plate would be the best dish in the show.”
Class 1: Onions. Approx. 250g or under. One dish of four. Qty of entries; 24
Class 2: Peas. One dish of six. Qty of entries; 12
