The afternoon consisted of telecon briefs from various personnel. The first eye-opening brief was from FS Atkinson who had recently attended the Trade Group 11 Pre-Selection board. This gave an insight and advice into the best ways personnel can improve their promotion chances as well as the best ways for reporting officers to write on people. This was followed by a well contributed Q&A raising many points for debate and discussion. Personnel then took part in a wing level teleconference call, focussing on ASTRA in the RAF, Wing level future ways of working and how/where/what the Wing will be comprised of in 2030.
Day three involved the second half of
the happiness course focussing more on relationships, forgiveness and meaning and purpose of life, stopping short of revealing the meaning the life!
The final day concluded with more Christmas themed team events. “The twelve days of Physmas” was a sweat inducing socially distanced pyramid work out involving (naturally) twelve different exercises. “Get your Jumpers out” was a Christmas Jumper designing competition, judged on originality, theme, detail, wing link and quality.
“Christmas in 60 seconds” was a re- enactment of favourite Christmas film scene in 60 seconds via camera or phone.
“Great Christmas Bake off” was a 1ISR
Christmas related baking competition.
“Wing it Christmas Construction” was a Christmas/1ISR based model making competition with extra kudos given to
originality
Finally, “Bubble Banger” was a write your
own Christmas Jingle competition, either from fresh, or using the tune from an existing Christmas classic. All lyrics had to be relevant to Christmas, as well as either 1ISR or the year 2020. The funnier the better, in order to make Michael Bublé proud.
Overall, the CTP was deemed a resounding success continuing to keep people in the squadron (and Wing) connected and updated during socially distanced times.
