 14 CRUISING REPORTS
                                 CRUISING IN 2022 AND BEYOND
Having never so much as hosted a rally, I put my hand up to succeed Laurie as Captain of Cruising, and was not entirely sure what to expect. Laurie had arranged an interesting cruising programme for 2022 which I have enjoyed implementing, with some new ideas which are always welcome. I am pleased I did take up the role, it is a lot of fun and keeps the cruising programme going.
A number of boats made a full weekend
of the AGM weekend, arriving Friday for the AGM the following morning. After an excellent lunch in the clubhouse, we had about twenty members for the Fitting Out Supper in the evening.
Making a break with tradition, we visited Island Harbour for two nights for the Easter Rally. We had a most enjoyable Safari Supper on Friday night, followed by dinner on Saturday night at The Breeze.Always ready to adapt, on hearing The Breeze had run out of wine glasses, a quick scurry to our respective
galleys ensured we had wine in wine glasses and not pint glasses. On Sunday evening, and with Gins shut, we had a pot-luck supper for eight boats on the Gins pontoon. Some of
us then stayed for lunch on Monday before setting off.
I would like to thank everyone who participated and made the Easter Rally such a success, putting in the effort to host or prepare and take food to another boat.
Steve and Cathy Lacey did a wonderful job of hosting the StVaast Rally. They combined the rally with their Rival OA
