Three events in the RSYC Double Handed series have taken place; the Spring Solent, the West Princessa and the Weymouth passage race:
The Spring Solent Double event took place on the 9th April. Congratulations to Class 1 winner Graham Deegan in Akarana 4 a Farr 30. Class 2 winner was Paul Dunstan in Mandarin, a Folkboat. Class 3 winner was Oliver Hawkins in Sailfish, a Gibsea 90.
The Weymouth Double which is a passage race was held on the 28th/29th May. Leg 1 to Weymouth was won by Edward Mockridge in his JPK1010, Elaine Again in Class 1. Class 2 winner was Peter Pickett in
his Laser 28 Moondog. Class 3 winner was Neil Miller in his Dufour 40 Elidie.
Leg 2 was a bit of a challenge (due to light winds) with only one finisher in class 2 which was Paul Dunstan in Folkboat Mandarin.
The West Princessa Double took place
on the 18th June.The race started in
light conditions and ended with winds approaching 30 knots. Congratulations to Class 1 winner Graham Keegan in Akarana 4 a Farr 30. Class 2 winner was Jo Richards in Marmalade a Hurley 18. Class 3 winner was Oliver Hawkins in Sailfish, a Gibsea 90.
Our Beaulieu Evening series racing and Southampton Water evening series racing have now taken place.
The first two races of the Beaulieu series were again abandoned due to wind.Two races have been completed so far. Neil Miller and crew of Elidie, a Dufour 40 have taken line honours and were winning on corrected time.There were eight races in this evening series.Take a look at the racing schedule on the RSYC racing page to see the dates for next year.
The Twilight series of evening races has completed in Southampton Water. A total of fourteen boats entered the series.The racing was generally in breezy conditions. Congratulations to Lukas Kolff in his 320 Amica for winning the series.
The Summer series of evening races on Southampton Water started on 23 June and ran until end of July.
