Due to time constraints, the teams like many others, could not participate in several remaining events such as command task and Canadian trivia. Consequently, it was decided that the winner of the final surprise event would be the overall champion.
At the shore of Lake Ontario, all team captains from each groups lay as casualties, prompting the remaining team members to rush to their aid, grabbing G10 stretchers along the way. Pte Otieno, single-handedly, carried Lt Sherchan for over 200 meters across a very uneven terrain to the G10 tent construction site. After setting up the tent, the team quickly placed the casualty back on the stretcher and hastened to cover the final 800 meters. The team’s collaborative effort showcased their resilience, securing a overall sixth position for the final time.

The entire team of eight QA service personnel took great pride in representing the corps
and Welland Regiment, the host. The award ceremony, presided over by HRH Duchess of Edinburgh, marked the conclusion of the competition.

It is imperative for each member to maintain this sense of pride and uphold their dignity. The competition, as intended, fostered camaraderie, mutual understanding, and esprit de corps among all participating units during this prestigious event. Anticipation is high for the upcoming year’s competition, where we eagerly anticipate reigniting our competitive spirits and embracing the myriad opportunities it offers.
