Thrapston Peace Park
Thrapston Peace Park sits in the heart of the town, accessible from Huntingdon Road and Market Road. The land on which the Peace Park lies was previously known as Kiln Close and was bought by the Parish Council for the people of
Thrapston in 1920 to commemorate the
Great War of 1914 – 1918. The Park is now
a registered War Memorial and as such
we require that all dogs are kept on leads.
To mark the 2020 Centenary of the Peace
Park the Town Council is transforming
the area with accessible paths, a poppy
shaped meeting area, rose garden and sensory garden. These improvements are kindly supported by a grant from the FCC Community Foundation.
Children can now play more securely thanks to new fencing along the Market Road perimeter.
We have children’s play equipment for all ages, including a new enclosed under-5s play area part-funded by East Northamptonshire Council’s
Community Facilities Fund and Thrapston Town Council. The Peace Park is ideally situated directly across the road from Thrapston Primary School and many children use the play facilities on their way to and from school.
As well as being a popular leisure space all year round, the Peace Park is also
used as a venue for the whole community to get together at Town Council events.
