Prince William School is a secondary school and sixth form located in Oundle, 8 miles North of Thrapston. The school was built in 1971 and named in honour of Prince William of Gloucester whose family home, Barnwell Manor, is a few miles away. Prior to 2015, Thrapston students were part of the three-tier Primary, Middle and Upper School system but as of 2015, Prince William School reopened as an academy and now provides education from year 7 through to sixth form, with around 1,200 students on roll. Prince William School is part of the East Midlands Academy Trust.

U3A is a national organisation with a local
branch operating as a self-help, self-managed lifelong learning co-operative for people no longer in full time work. Various learning and interest groups hold regular meetings to share knowledge.
