Thrapston Town Council
Thrapston Town Council has been working hard behind the scenes to keep Thrapston a great place to live through the challenges of 2020. Bike racks have been installed at the Plaza to encourage green travel and the town’s
CCTV has been upgraded to help keep residents safe. Another way in which the Town Council has improved safety for its residents is by installing fencing along the Market Road side of the Peace Park.
On the subject of the Peace Park, this fantastic facility in the heart of the town celebrated its Centenary in 2020 and improvements have been made to ensure that the area delights the generations
Abeautiful new poppy shaped seating area will provide a space for quiet reflection
to come. We have recently refurbished
some of the existing play equipment and
with support from the East Northamptonshire Council Community Facilities Fund installed a new enclosed toddler area. Thanks to a grant from FCC Community Foundation we are installing accessible paths in the Peace Park so that wheelchair users and those with buggies can better access the park’s facilities. A beautiful new poppy shaped seating area will provide a space for quiet reflection and the new scented rose garden and multi-sensory garden will offer a feast
for the senses. Many of the new designs acknowledge the history of the Peace Park, which was dedicated to the town in 1920 to mark the end of the Great War.
Thirteen Councillors make up the Town Council, which currently has the following Committees; Planning & Asset Management, Finance & Devolution, Events & Community Engagement and Personnel. Additional Committees and Working Parties are set up as required, for example when special projects are being undertaken such as the
