Thrapston Town Council’s main responsibilities include:
• Maintenanceofopenareasdetailedinthe
‘Parks & Recreation’ section, along with the
War Memorial
• Managementofcommunityfacilitiessuch
as the Community Centre (Thrapston Plaza), Thrapston Cemetery and the public conveniences
• Tourismdevelopmentandpromotionofthe town and its facilities
• Publicseating,somestreetlighting,litter and dog waste bins on Town Council owned land
• Statutoryconsulteeonplanning applications
At the time of going to press we are in the process of filling two Councillor vacancies

The restructuring of local government will
bring significant change to local Councils and we anticipate that Thrapston Town Council will be expected to take on additional duties in the coming years.
