effects children under the age of 6. 2 PARA have been immense in supporting Ollie, Breya and family, everyone has been stepping up to the mark and doing what Paras do best, putting their fitness to the test and raising some money to help this little girl. In June I set myself a challenge to run 4 Marathons (104.88 miles) in under 24hrs. I completed this and as promised with time left I did a bit more...110 miles in 23hrs 27 min”. Round 2 will commence this June where I will look to surpass 110 miles in 24hrs. Donations for knees, hips and ankles welcome!
Another exercise this Jan was followed by the annual Inter Platoon Competition “Bruneval Cup”. Myself, gym staff and training wing executed the event form start to finish and of course recced the route prior to the troops going out on the Beacons a few days later. Platoons were dropped off at a start point in a layby where they then had to get to the finish point which was 21 miles as the crow flies whilst going through some report lines carrying approx 50lb + weapon. There was also an option to visit a series of features such as trig points and spot heights for which they would receive a bonus (1 hr off total time) for each check point visited.
This event highlighted the calibre of the soldiers here. I do not believe there are any other regiments other than the Parachute Regiment who could complete such an event on battalion scale and still be ready to fight at the end. This is what makes this job such a privilege.
Boxing time again as we started our assault on regaining the army boxing champs after finishing runners up last time out. We started with a 5-3 win over 4 Scots in a hard-fought contest.
I am now fast approaching my final tenure with 2 PARA, I did mange to get an extra few months here with them and I will ensure I make the most in whatever comes our way. It has been an absolute honour and privilege to be 2 PARAs RAPTCI. From top

The pace of life has been relentless as always in 7 Para RHA. Exercises have been coming thick and fast, not leaving much time in the calendar for anything else. But we have not let this get the better of us. As I approach my 4th and final year in the Regiment, I start the year off on one of four Pre-Para courses run out of the brigade, and the Regiment continues to take the lead in delivering the arduous 2 week course to all those potential Airborne
Warriors within the brigade and further afield, conduction AAPPS this year with volunteers from other AAPTIs from across the Brigade.
As always this time of year sees our PNCO/JNCO annual leadership courses running out of Brecon. Brecon’s conditions are as we all know testing at the best of times, but our soldiers as always, continued to beat the cold and prove themselves as leaders of men. The soldiers are pushed mentally and physically, far out of
