BUGLERS’ ASSOC
Gone But Not Forgotten
In March, Stan Wilkinson and bugler Thomas Matakibau (5 RIFLES) had the honour and privilege to sound The Last Post and Reveille at the Final Parade of Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Thomas Bevan.
MINDEN HOUSE BUGLERS
In February a Service of Thanksgiving was given to celebrate the work of Sir John Peace Kt CVO CStJ, Lord Lieutenant of Nottingham, at Southwell Minster.
Four Buglers had the honour of sounding a Fanfare to start, and a Bugle call to close the service which was
very well attended by Nottinghamshire community groups, Councils and Commerce organisations.
The Armed Forces were represented by Tri-Service attendance from Regular, Reserve and Cadet Forces. There were also many Royal British Legion Standards present with Bearers providing a Guard of Honour.

8 RIFLES BUGLE BREAKFAST – PONTEFRACT ARC
The bugle was a long- missed sound for many other attendees
In March, the Bugle Group was asked to sound a Fanfare on the arrival of the County’s HM Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Ed Anderson CBE.
During the breakfast liaison with local Businesses and the Reserve Forces & Cadets Association (RFCA) organised and hosted by 8th Battalion The Rifles, the buglers performed a short Bugle display.
The sounding of the Bugle was clearly a new experience to some at the breakfast, and a long-missed sound for many other attendees. The feedback was extremely positive!
SIR JOHN MOORE COMMEMORATION
In January, veterans Kevin Fawcett and Dave Jarratt sounded the calls at the KOYLI Regimental Chapel inside York Minster, for the Commemorative Service for Sir John Moore.
