 WILTSHIRE CADET WINS
MELKSHAM MAYOR’S CADET AWARD
Cadet Serjeant Major Shannon Bullock has been appointed a Melksham Mayor’s Cadets Award.
Shannon was recognised for her ‘outstanding year’ where she has attended every community event. To add to her impressive achievement, she has now also been appointed as Staff Cadet Serjeant Major.
     TEN TORS 2024
An annual highlight for Cadets is undoubtedly the Ten Tors event on Dartmoor.
Wiltshire ACF fielded an impressive three teams who completed the challenge within the challenging time frame. There may be many challenging outdoor events in Britain today, but Ten Tors stands alone in its scale, its ambition, and the fact that it is aimed solely at young people. All those who attempt Ten Tors will undoubtedly remember it for the rest of their lives and for many it will be a life-changing experience.
  CAMBRIAN PATROL
Another annual highlight for Cadets is the Cambrian Patrol, where this year Wiltshire gained silver medals. The Cadet Cambrian Patrol is a gruelling two-day exercise on the Sennybridge Training Area and is designed to test their physical and mental endurance.
This demanding exercise required them to move unsupervised from one stand to another, completing various tasks designed to confirm and test their knowledge of the Army Cadet Syllabus (ACS).
These tasks tested the cadets’ skills in Navigation, Physical Fitness, First Aid, Fieldcraft and Tactics, Teamwork, and Leadership.
  Recruit Camp 2024
Our newest cadets attended the 2024 Recruit Camp where the training covered the Army Cadet Syllabus. R&R to Salisbury saw everyone visit the Cathedral and The Rifles Museum (Berkshire and Wiltshire).
At the end of the week, parents and family were present to see the cadets carry out a Passing Off Parade.
