LISBURN, 2 RIFLES - FIJIANS WELCOME NEW COMMANDING OFFICER
A warmer Belfast afternoon was a welcome backdrop to this unique event. Like many other battalions, 2 RIFLES host a large community of serving Fijian Riflemen and
in custom with tradition, laid on a family gathering to welcome their new Commanding Officer, Lt Col Dan Brown and his family. I was fortunate enough to be able to give a short brief on The Rifleman’s Association and its virtues, many of which already exist within their own little community and are to be celebrated. LISBURN: 2 RIFLES BOXING
A brisk Belfast evening saw several veterans gather for the 2 RIFLES boxing tournament, with the outside temperature belying the warmth, friendliness and kindness shown by serving Riflemen to their veteran comrades. This was an excellent sporting event which was superbly organised by the RSM in concert with many others and was matched by the hospitality shown during and after at the post-boxing meal and drinks. This was a fantastic way for 2 RIFLES to engage with their veteran population and was really enjoyed and appreciated. Thank you to the Commanding Officer and Regimental Serjeant Major.
