‘Sacred to the memory of No 10621 Private Edward C Capel, Royal Army Medical Corps, who died at Camp 

Polymedia Limassol, Cyprus, on Feb 8th 1899, from enteric fever contracted while in the discharge of his duties nurs- 
ing comrades in hospital.


This stone has been erected by the Officers, non-commissioned officers and men R.A.M.C. The Depot Staff Limassol, 

and C. Company 1st Battalion Border Regiment, as a mark of respect and esteem’
