Sergeant James Adams, of the 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment, who died on 22 October 1882, age 27.
His headstone is honoured with the numeral 1 on the top right hand corner. His grave is located in plot A, at the top
left hand corner of the cemetery.
