Fingers crossed, this year we can celebrate in the street again
In 1205, Thrapston was granted a Market Charter by King John, for the price of two palfreys. Every year, Thrapston celebrates its market status with a Fair and Thrapston Charter Fair has taken place in its present form it has been in existence since
1991. Thrapston is also the only town in Northamptonshire that still holds livestock markets.
On Charter Fair day stalls, displays and exhibitions are located along the whole length of the street and the Fair opens with a parade starting from the Bridge Hotel. Live music is played from the main stage throughout the afternoon and this year we are inviting local artists, photographers and cartoonists to exhibit their work in the Plaza Centre. There will also be a Charter Fair archive display from Thrapston Heritage Group. This will be a wonderful opportunity to showcase the work of local people as
an exhibition. If you wish to purchase any of the items on display on the day you will need to contact the artist privately. If you
