                                  OUNDLE FESTIVAL
of Music and Drama
In the November issue of Oundle Life, we gave you a flavour of the history of the Festival
and how it works. This month, after all the planning, it is time for our 2023 event!
Although entries have not yet returned to pre-pandemic levels, we are pleased to report that entries have increased since last year. Here is an idea of what to look out this year:
On Saturday 25th, renowned pianist and teacher Susan Clark will adjudicate piano classes in St. Peter’s Church while, over in the Gascoigne Recital Room, soprano soloist and voice teacher Elizabeth Emberson will listen to junior and adult singers.
Sunday 26th features junior instrumentalists, encouraged by Head of Junior Guildhall Conservatoire, Rosanna Whitfield, who stays with us for junior choirs and ensembles on Monday 26th in the Oundle School Chapel.
School choirs come from Oundle, Bourne, Stamford, Polebrook and Corby.
On Monday evening, we switch to Open Speech and Drama classes in the Oundle Suite in Fletton House, with experienced adjudicator Peter Dayson, who will also hear junior classes on Tuesday morning in St. Peter’s Church.
For something completely different – we move to Catmose College, Oakham in the afternoon for junior drama classes.
On our final day, Saturday 1st April, we welcome conductor and vocal coach David Beer to judge the adult choir classes.
An important part of performances is having an audience, so please do come along.
