very little or no experience up to players who have represented national teams, which is why we are always developing and changing as a team. I have been lucky in my few years of playing to play several Inter-Corp games, attend the AMS Women’s Tour to Canada in July 19 and last season I was selected by the Army Women’s Rugby team for season 2019/20. During that season I trained and played training games with the Army Women’s team, which was a great experience! Unfortunately, on that occasion, I was not selected to play Inter-Services, but that will be my aim for next year!
During all this I have come away with friends dotted around the Army, in all
Corps and on occasions, this has been invaluable. There is always a use and advantage to having useful points of contact to tap into outside of the RADC,
as well as getting to know those in it
better, outside of the dental clinic. As the AMS Women’s Rugby Union Secretary, I contribute to securing match arrangements, coordinating team management, securing funding arrangements and lead the general administration of the team. That said,
any RADC personnel who are interested
in playing with us are welcome to get in touch! We are currently not playing due to COVID, but we are keen to start playing
as soon as we can, hopefully, we will be allowed to get back to it in the early months of 2021. Rugby can develop so many of your core skills, not just physically; but in communication, decision making, forward planning and team cohesion, just to mention a few; you also make friends for life! We welcome anyone who would like to get some time on the pitch and I hope to see some RADC faces soon.
