CLUB
Oundle Rotary Club
Oundle Rotary Club is a very informal club which meets twice a month on Tuesday evenings. We are a fun, chatty group who like to get things done. If you would like to join our club or find out more, please visit our Facebook page facebook.com/oundleclub.
Turkey & Syria Earthquake disaster We responded immediately to the earthquake disaster in Turkey and Syria, and were able
to buy a Shelter Box. A Shelter Box consists
of a tent, ground mats and blankets, cooking equipment and water containers, a tool kit, solar light, mosquito nets and even a children’s activity pack – all essentials for vulnerable people to recover and rebuild their homes after disaster.
We also donated over £400 to our Rotary District (1070) disaster response grant.
Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire Search and Rescue Search and Rescue are a group of trained volunteers who are on call 24hrs a day, 365 days a year. They assist their local emergency services in the search for vulnerable missing people across the counties.
Oundle Phab Club This club inspires and supports disabled and non-disabled children, young people, and adults to make more of
life together – breaking down community barriers, reducing social isolation, and creating opportunities to enjoy the same activities.
Volunteer Action A local charity supporting local residents who may be elderly, unwell, disadvantaged or have disabilities. Volunteer Action provide the Community Car Scheme (a door-to-door car service for people with no reasonable means of transport) and the Befriending Scheme (one to one support).
We also donated to the Peterborough Salvation Army, who bring the Christmas spirt to our Christmas concert every year.
Local community Oundle Rotary are taking part and helping with Oundle School’s Community Action Department, who are hosting a ‘Grand Day Out’ on Wednesday 14th June 2023. This is a day out for local elderly residents to enjoy some company and afternoon tea.
We are also having a Tombola Stall at the Fletton Field Summer Gala, 2-6pm on Saturday 8th July 2023. Donations to the stall would be appreciated – contact Jo Elwood at Green Man Antiques 01832 270970.
