To round off the most successful season for the RAPTC team in several years, including winning the coveted Inter Corps Championships, 6 members of the RAPTC triathlon team embarked on an Over Seas Visit (OSV) to Cyprus to race the super tough K1 Man (Middle distance) Triathlon. The race attracts an International field and is hotly contested by the top triathletes in Cyprus. The gruelling race consists of a rough 1.9km Sea swim in Happy Valley followed by a stunning but horrendously hilly 90km of biking along the beautiful coastal road and then a tough &
demanding 21km mixed trail run in the heat of the day around the Happy Valley tracks & roads.
Before the training started in earnest, a comprehensive brief was conducted by the OSV OIC Sgt Nerys “Nezza” Jones & SO2 PD Cyprus Maj Paul “Dougie” Douglas who had worked hard to ensure the camp was well located in Episkopi and the team were fully supported throughout the week.
The fun began with the Head Coach, Capt (MAA) Willie Wilson laying out the training sessions that the team could look forward to, based on the “reverse taper” theory. Throughout the week the swim, bike and run routes were broken into segments and
