have a attended a number of funerals of members during the year to represent both the Worcestershire Regiment and Mercian.
The life of the Branch does include some social events. The Clay Pigeon Shoot which included Archery was very successful
once again, although the ‘Crown for the champion shot has been transferred to another holder! The help and support of WO2 Keith Newman and Major Jeff Hyde of the ACF to enable this event to take place is greatly appreciated. The ‘Golf Club’ has been active during the year with number
of matches the last being held in the North West.
The Ladies lunch was held the summer at the Island Pool Inn. This was again was a success and was enjoyed by everyone. In August we visited The Royal British Legion at Stourport on Severn for our monthly meeting and later the ladies joined us for lunch. This has become an annual event. We celebrated the 10th anniversary of the
Branch by holding a Bar Be Que at the Shrubbery. This was enjoyed by a large gathering impressed by the expert handling of the fire and the food. New talent was unearthed. Thanks again to C/Sgt Berrows and Mrs Berrows for their help. The year ended with the Christmas Party. The format rarely changes, but is no less successful for that. The raffle went well; we got the amount of food amount right this year!, The band and the vocalists were in fine form, once again the ‘family’ and friends had a good night.
Behind every organisation there has to be a good team to keep the momentum step forward when the need arises. We
are lucky that we such a team. This team varies in size according to the need. We are also lucky that we have members who are prepared to step forward when the need arises, be it social, welfare or day to day administration.
