You have all had to contend with the most difficult of circumstances – and some of you I know have faced huge personal challenges beyond your control. To succeed on what is a hugely demanding Masters level course in normal times is a great accolade – but in these extraordinary times, it is, well, extraordinary. For many of you, this has included undertaking a Masters degree – the MA, the MRes or the new
MSc – in under 10 months, another exceptional achievement. So, I salute you all for your efforts, and please never let anyone say this ACSC was not a special one.
Three final points. The first is that the many successes of ACSC 24 have informed ACSC 25 and the future, across a range of issues. So on behalf of the next and future cohorts, can I thank you for your excellent feedback which has shaped their future. The second – and I am certain you will join me in
this – is to thank all my Directing Staff, the superb King’s DSD team, and our wonderful Serco Admin team for their own extraordinary efforts in developing ACSC 24, delivering it and adapting it in the most difficult of circumstances. It’s been a superb whole team effort - well done team! Finally, it just falls to me to wish everyone of you – and your families – every best for the future on behalf of the whole staff of the Joint Services Command & Staff College (JSCSC).
I regret that we were not able to get to know each other as well as we might, but my interaction with all of you has nonetheless been hugely rewarding. You have done yourselves, and your respective countries and Services, proud. I wish you every success in your careers in the service of your country and I am sure that your own abilities, aided by your attendance on this world class programme, will ensure success.
