We hope you found time to visit our church events during December - there was certainly plenty to choose from! The Christmas Craft Making Event was great fun and it was wonderful to welcome so many people of all ages. Did you see the Christmas trees in Islip? Which was your favourite?
There were certainly some very imaginative trees and they looked beautiful glittering in the church.
At the time of writing we are looking forward to the children from Thrapston Primary School visiting St James Church to hear the true story of Christmas. We hope you had a peaceful and joyful Christmas and send you every blessing for 2023. Why not come to one of our Sunday services or come and visit us during the week? We’ll be very pleased to see you.
Tuesday Together and Saturday Coffee are times when there is always a good biscuit
and chat to be enjoyed. These weekly coffee mornings take place in St James Church, Thrapston, between 10am and 12noon every Tuesday and Saturday and even in the cold weather you can be sure of a warm welcome. For those who want to attend, there is also a Tuesday morning Communion Service starting at 9.45am.
Under fives and their grown ups are always welcome at Praise and Play, a group which meets in St James Church, Thrapston, from 9am-10.30am on Monday mornings (restarting on January 9th) There you will be able to enjoy craft, a story, singing, refreshments and a chance to make new friends.
Knitting for Beginners will start again on Monday 9th January. It meets on Monday evenings from 6.30 - 8.00pm in St James, Thrapston and is a group where you can come
along and learn how to knit or crochet. It!s free, a lot of fun and those teaching have plenty of patience. No need to book or even bring your own knitting at the beginning. For more details contact Sue on 01832 733717.
Following the legal merger of the ecclesiastical parishes of Thrapston and Islip we held a Special Parochial Church Meeting in St James Church in November at which new Churchwardens and PCC members were elected. Thanks were given to those who have served the churches so faithfully over many years, especially Mrs Sally Morris in Islip.

During Sunday services in St James, Thrapston, we run JAMES Club for primary school age children to learn about Jesus. For those in secondary school our Youth Bible study also meets during the services on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays of the month. New members and visitors are always welcome.
