Ian and Vicky had always dreamt of running their own interiors shop and although they have been successfully trading in Thrapston for three years now, somehow they still can’t believe that they’ve realised their dream. Here Ian explains what they love about Auburn Fox.

What made you choose Thrapston?
When you look at the beautiful stone buildings down the High Street, there’s real history there, it’s impossible not
to fall in love with the charm of the place. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found the wonderful grade II listed building on the high street. It suits the kind of furniture we sell.
It’s extremely rewarding when you help people find exactly what they’re looking for
treated and I believe offering a more personable experience has helped build our reputation as an approachable, trustworthy and reliable retailer.
What’s the best part of your job?
I love discovering new products and making new trade contacts, it helps our business progress as we become more well known within the industry. Vicky, my partner and co-director is completely the opposite and prefers
Tell us more... It was a huge gamble
for us to move here during the first
lockdown of the pandemic but I’m pleased
to say that we don’t regret it at all. The people
of Thrapston have been so welcoming and supportive, so a huge thank you from us for shopping locally and supporting our high street.
What makes Auburn Fox different? I’d say
being in the shop meeting new people and their four-legged friends. It’s extremely rewarding when you help people find exactly what they’re looking for and it’s lovely to get to know our regular customers.
