WINNING SINGERS
Celebrating 10 years of the Allegra Singers
We are a community-based ladies’ choir of about 20 members. We were originally formed in September 2013. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings at the new Islip Sports Pavilion, which has perfect facilities for us.
We sing in three, four, and even five parts sometimes, and we love to sing some show songs; but mainly good, strong, popular songs. We work to backing tracks and we

we sing to them – in harmony, of course! We like to add to our social calendar, and we enjoy going out together. We always have a Christmas celebration, an annual meal out, and also visit other venues to see productions.
I have led this choir from the beginning and discovered a talent I did not realise I had
original members.
We are always open to welcoming new
members – no audition is necessary, just a love of singing. We are particularly looking for sopranos and lower altos at the moment.
