Getting out and about...
DROP-IN@SOUSTER YOUTH HUB
We have recently opened an after school drop- in on a Friday 3.45-6pm at the Souster Youth Hub, 30 Market Road, Thrapston.
It is open to all secondary age young people and runs every week in term-time. Come along and join us to play board games, card games and table tennis. A great place to come and spend time with friends as well as making some new ones – and there’s always good snacks on the go!
CHOIRS SING TOGETHER
Since the start of the Covid pandemic, all choirs, particularly male choirs, have suffered dwindling numbers and financial loss due to a huge drop in concert income.
Now that audiences are more willing to come out for an evening’s entertainment, Corby’s Male Voice Choir has teamed up with local ladies’ choir, the Seagrave Singers, to produce
a stunning evening of musical enjoyment, featuring a wide range of musical offerings, in Thrapston’s Plaza.
Although Corby MVC is based in Corby, some of its members come from up to 35 miles away. However, six of its current members live here, in Thrapston. So, they won’t have to travel far to perform in their first concert of this year!!
If you like a bargain, you will get two choirs for the price of one in the Plaza on Saturday 15th of April 2023, starting at 7.30pm. There will also be a raffle and a cash drinks bar to help both choirs to raise funds and keep themselves financially viable in these difficult times. Place orders for your tickets, which cost just £10 each, by emailing either:
SteveCorbyMVC@Outlook.com or StephLindley7@Gmail.com, stating your name, how many tickets you want, and that you will pay for and collect them at the door.
   CAKE!
Don’t forget to visit the cake sale in St James Church on Saturday 1st April from 10am – 12noon where Bethan Mayes will be raising funds for an International Girl Guiding trip to the Isle of Man, where she will be taking part in a Community project as well as enjoying activities with other guides.
THRAPSTON PARTY IN THE PARK 6th MAY
You are invited to join a group of singers preparing for Thrapston Party in the Park which will take place on the Coronation Day, Saturday 6th May from 2.00-8.00pm.
We will be singing with a live orchestra during the last hour (7.00-8.00pm) and will be rounding the event off with a Last Night of the Proms medley. All singers are welcome. There will be two advance rehearsals in St James Church Hall on Tuesday 25th April and Tuesday 2nd May, 7.30-9.30pm so please come along. Music will be provided.
