for fun, the social aspect, fitness (although every SNG pupil calls this torture) or you can throw yourself into our N.A.T.D examinations.
Proudest moment? Being appointed as an N.A.T.D Freestyle & Street examiner in 2022. I am off to my first exam session soon and can’t wait to examine other schools!
If money was no object, where would you visit? Most people would say somewhere exotic, but I’ll never forget how I felt driving through the Cairngorms in Scotland en route to Loch Ness. The scenery was out of this world and I felt so emotional. I’d go back in a heartbeat and stay somewhere super luxurious, looking out over it all... with a spa!!
What brings you joy? My family, my pets, my friends, food, and dancing! Also, I am a little OCD – nothing like a spotless house. It brings me inner peace.
Who inspires you? My children. Poppy is 12 years old and so resilient and confident. Theo is nine – he loves dancing AND football – so for anyone that says that boys don’t dance...
Something people don’t know about you?
I once successfully applied to become a police officer. But recruitment then halted in the county, and then I fell pregnant with Poppy.
Cat, dog or iguana? Who’s at home? We have a crazy Cocker Spaniel called Figg, three cats, and a fairground fish that we thought wouldn’t last long – but he is still going strong a year on!
Dinner out or at home? I do love going out for a meal, but also love being in my PJs by 7pm.
And favourite tipple to go with it? Rose wine, but I’m a cider girl at heart.
Any future ambitions? I just want to continue doing what we do and doing it well. As I’ve grown up, had my own children, and after having gone through the covid years, I can really see the benefit of a more toned down, simple way of life. Not always being in the fast lane. Appreciating each day, one at a time.
You have a day off, what do you do? A nice country walk in the sunshine with Figg, family and friends – preferably to a cafe for cake! www.stepngrooves.co.uk
