The Sandhurst Trust 2018 – At The Double
Vaughan Kent-Payne
2018 was the best year so far for The Sand- hurst Trust, The RMA Sandhurst charity.
The charity continued to support leader- ship activities around the Academy in the form of grants for Adventurous Training and over 600 cadets benefitted from leadership grants to off- set the cost of their expeditions. Several of the expedition reports are elsewhere in this edition and reflect the variety of activities undertaken and countries visited. The Trust also supported a small number of UOTC expeditions, bringing our influence to bear through our Reserve Forces members.
81 Sandhurst medals were presented to Inter- national cadets in the week of their commis- sion. The medal, provided by the charity and presented by The Commandant, is a tangible reminder of a year at RMAS and one which sev- eral countries have given permission for their officers to wear. The Trust has also sold a further 120 medals to international alumni who commis- sioned before December 2016. Several medals were also presented by The Commandant to vis- iting senior alumni.
