under the watchful eye of the École de Guerre Senior Representative, Colonel Villiaumey, as well as the VIPs, Mr Simon Halliday, Ex England and Bath rugby player and Head of European Club Rugby, Judge Jeff Blackett, Vice Chairman of the RFU, and the founder of the cup, Lt Col Tim Lerwill.
A perfect day out for all, which included entertainment by the Corps of Drums of the Grenadier Guards and the pre-game ceremony of national anthems, sung by the Defence Academy’s Military Wives Choir. The event also supported the Cottage Nursery and Help for Heroes, raising over £2500 for these fantastic charities that help our community locally and further afield.
The victory was celebrated in the true spirit of the game, all together, enjoying the BBQ and some ‘refreshments.’ Promises were made to keep the annual Lerwill Cup rugby match alive for many years to come, whilst the ACSC 22 squad made every effort to keep the celebrations in the pavilion alive as long as possible on the night.
