LIFE
 High Streets come alive...
With the roadmap to ease lockdown now in place, we can start to live a little...
Now that the first step of lockdown easing
has taken place, with the children’s return to school and the ‘rule of six’ back, we can look forward to our non-essential shops re-opening on our High Streets very soon.
Whether our shops and businesses survive this pandemic, or if our High Streets change forever, is up to you. Their future is in your hands – please shop local – your support ensures their future and that of your town.
Although hotels are unable to open until later in the year, Dorota Metselaar, Deputy General Manager of The Talbot Hotel shares with us
her insight into this lovely historic hostelry, by taking part in our Q&A section this month. From dining at the oak table and tales of a secret room, to the staircase of Fotheringhay Castle haunted by Mary Queen of Scots, The Talbot Hotel is steeped in history (page 24).
Meanwhile Joe Croser from Oundle Architects has been following the local limestone trail all around the town. This beautiful stone, in its many subtle shades, makes our incredible buildings glow when bathed in evening sunshine (page 9).
Do you know John and Nobby? The two quiet
achievers behind so much of the public face of Oundle? The town council, assisted by John and Nobby, want us to take more care of our town and its facilities so that future generations can enjoy them too (page 18).
