Lunch? I would stay close to the classics, starting off with Champagne from Pierre Mignon. It’s exceptional value and the perfect way to start to your celebrations.
Wines from Burgundy pair really well with traditional Christmas menus, the creamy white Chardonnays go well with smoked salmon and also roast turkey. The elegant red Pinot Noirs from Burgundy are another great pairing for turkey, game birds and red meats.
You have £10 to give to charity, who do you choose? As a woman in a very male-dominated industry, I wanted to do something to champion amazing women winemakers around the world, so through our Remarkable Women in Wine selections, we donate £10 from each case sold to Refuge. Refuge is committed to a world where domestic violence and violence against women and girls is not tolerated and where women and children can live in safety.
What makes Handpicked Wine Box so special? We work so hard to deliver a brilliant
experience for our customers and have quite literally gone the extra mile for them, which is reflected in our five star Trustpilot rating.
Proudest moment? It’s always a proud moment when the last of our Christmas orders are despatched and we can relax and reflect on all we have achieved over the past year.
Dinner out or at home? We’re never happier than when we are in our kitchen at home. But dining out is such a treat and we love eating other peoples food, from Michelin stars to street food sat on plastic chairs – always an adventure.
...and a favourite tipple to go with it? I’m going to go for a drink from my past. Small Parcels – Spitfire, Sauvignon Blanc from Kim Crawford in Marlborough, New Zealand. This wine is stunning – bursting with tropical fruit and grapefruit, you have to sit up and take notice!
Dog, cat or iguana – who’s at home? A wire haired Hungarian vizsla called Tokaji (named after a famous Hungarian wine).
