Her motivation and enthusiasm towards training and development was recognised very early on in her Cadet career, and has achieved the complete range of APC levels from her Basic star 3 months after joining through to her completing her Senior Cadet Instructors Cadre early this year where she was recognised as a Highly Competent Instructor. The passion that she brings to every task she is given has cascaded through the platoon resulting in Bridgnorth Platoon being one of the strongest ACF detachments in the county.
Cadet Sergeant Chloe Edwards as well as doing the green training also supports the Shropshire ACF’s Bligny Band and Bugles. She has also been a driving force for a choir that has performed at our Banners Parade.
Cdt CSM Beth Wright has been appointed as our new Cadet RSM. Beth from Whitchurch Platoon, which has a long history of producing Shropshire ACF’s senior cadets, joined the cadets in January 2014 and has worked through the APC Syllabus and achieved her Master cadet award. Beth has represented the County in Skill at Arms, shooting and sports and is a good example for all aspiring future senior cadets.
Whitchurch platoon have successfully won the County Lucas Tooth Competition for a third year in a row. The competition which has been run in
Shropshire since the early 1900’s after the Lucas Tooth family donated the magnificent trophy for efficiency to all the counties in the county. Sadly not all counties still have their trophy, but in Shropshire we still proudly compete throughout the year to see who will be champions. Our competition its self is based on the APC Syllabus so includes military skills, map and compass, first aid, drill and turnout as well as shooting. It also includes sports, such as swimming, athletics, football and cross-country
45 Shropshire cadets attended the Annual Regional Athletics competition in Solihull. Our senior girls took the title of Regional Champions with the combined team coming 4th overall.
Cdt Angel Beasley from Madeley platoon did particularly well by coming first in all of her events, the 100m, 200m, Relay and long jump.
