    cancel two more activity days at Gins in July, we did manage to run two in early August. Huge thanks to all our volunteers (and the weather). 209 young carers have taken part in activity days and more focused specific sport sessions over the summer, which feels like quite an achievement in view of the circumstances.
As many of us know, watersports are
not low cost hobbies. The majority of
the Trust’s income comes from Member donations and bidding to larger charities and foundations. Bidding to funding organisations has become particularly tight, so in August we took the decision to ask RSYC Members to dig deep to support our final water event of the year for young carers, a water activity day with races, treasure
hunt and BBQ at Spinnaker Sailing Club.
Trustees were delighted that you rose to the challenge and at the time of writing this
article, your kind donations have contributed over £3000 to the Trust. The Regatta event took place on Saturday 7th September. We added a BBQ element this year, thinking
of families who have particularly felt the
