2. Hardware

The GuardII+ Platform only provides a basis for complete monitors; the different
monitoring technologies are built separately as modules that are installed in the GuardII+
Platform. This document only discusses the elements specific to the GuardII+ Platform itself.
Descriptions that are specific to a monitoring technology are omitted; refer to the technology-
specific User Manuals.

2.1. Layout

The GuardII+ enclosure is NEMA type 4X and has a hinged front door with a window. The
main indicators and local communications ports can be seen through the window in the front
door. By opening the door, there is access to the front panel, which has a USB port to connect
to a computer, and a USB port to insert a USB drive. The grounding bolt is located outside at
the bottom of the enclosure.
