              6.3.5. Alert Level Configuration

The final part of the Flux system configuration is to set Alert thresholds. As described in
Section 4.7, the Alerts are based on a difference in measured flux amplitude; the Alert
threshold is the % difference. For example, if the Alert threshold is set for 3%, then when the
relative flux amplitude drops below 97% for a particular pole (or coil), then an Alert occurs.

                        • For a Flux-S system, each pole can have a separate Alert level.
                        • For a Flux-R system, each coil can have a separate Alert level.

Pressing the ‘Set Defaults’ button will select a default Alert level for each pole (or coil)
based on the rotor design type (salient or round rotor) and the turns per coil defined in the
Asset (for round rotor machines). Alternatively, each level can be individually set.
                                     NOTE:
On a salient pole machine, a pole typically shows some sign of problems
when the percentage difference of the flux amplitude is more than 1-2%.

On round rotor machines, this increases to about 3% for coils with more
than 10 turns per coil, and 5-10% for coils with less than 10 turns per coil.

Pressing ‘Reset’ will restore all Alert levels to the original values.
