Safety Memo #20 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Personal protective equipment, or PPE, is essential while working on the construction site. With hundreds of people going on
and off our sites, we need to make sure that everyone is at least minimally protected with PPE while working. Per ACI company
policy, it is required that all personnel on our jobsites to have PPE equipped while on site.
ACI requires the following PPE to be equipped at all times:
1. Hard Hat (with proper rating as required by the job)
2. Safety Vest/High Visibility Clothing
3. Work Boots
4. Safety Glasses/Goggles
Moreover, ACI seeks to implement the highest safety standard so other forms of PPE such as hearing protection,
respiratory protection, arc flash suits, and personal fall arrest systems must also be used if the job requires work that
necessitates the use of them.
Please remember though that PPE is the last line of defense in safety. One should always go through the hierarchy of safety
controls when making decisions on how to tackle hazardous work. For more information on the hierarchy of controls follow this
