what to wear
A common question among clients is what they should wear
to their newborn portrait session. Clothing choices are an
important part of the final prints so for that reason I’m
outlining a few things to consider when selecting outfits.
Coordinating colors tend to photograph better than outfits that
are perfectly matched. Consider selecting a palette of1-2
coordinating colors and select outfits within the palette for
each family member. I tend to lean towards very soft clean colors
creams, whites, light greys. These are flattering for both the parents and
baby’s skin tone and keep your images timeless.
Keep your outfits as simple as possible. We don’t want to distract from
that beautiful new baby. Try for simple flat layers. I do have a beautiful
gown for new mom. I know you don’t feel like shopping after having a baby!
While it’s fun to play with accessories try not to overdo it or they
may end up distracting from the subject(s).
