TREATMENT OF A CLOSED FRACTURE
• Immobilise the injured part to stop any movement • Support the injured part
• Leave the casualty in the position found unless they can move the injured part to a more comfortable position
• For additional support, particularly if there is a delay in the emergency services arriving, you could consider strapping an uninjured leg to the injured one
• You must not try to realign the fracture. This should only be performed by medically trained professionals
• Treat for shock • Call 999/112
