SUPPORT SLING
Tie off the two ends on the injured side above the collar bone. Place the two ends under the knot to act as a cushion for the knot.
Secure the trailing bandage at the elbow with a safety pin, or by twisting it fairly tight and losing it by tucking it away within the sling.
Ensure that there is still circulation in the fingertips by performing a capillary refill check. Press a fingernail which should go pale. When released it should go back to normal colouration. Transport them to the hospital or call 999 if they are unable to walk.
