RECOGNITION OF A SPINAL INJURY
If the spinal cord is damaged:
• No control over limb movement
• Loss of sensation, or abnormal sensations such as numbness, burning or tingling
• The casualty may say that the limbs feel heavy or clumsy
• Loss of bladder and bowel control • Breathing difficulties
