TREATMENT OF A SPINAL INJURY
Prevent any movement!
• Call for an ambulance immediately
• Prevent any movement and support in the
position found
• Support their head throughout but do not cover the ears with your hands, as this will impair their hearing
• Monitor their breathing and other vital signs whilst you are waiting for the ambulance to arrive
• Be prepared to resuscitate
