ABDOMINAL WOUNDS Treatment
• If they are responsive, lie them down with their knees raised and supported • Loosen tight clothing
• Dress the wound/s with a sterile dressing and secure it with adhesive tape • Call for an ambulance
• If blood seeps through the first dressing, apply a second one on top and secure it in place • Treat for shock and monitor their breathing and responsiveness
• Place them in the recovery position should they become unresponsive, injured side down
