BITES AND STINGS
Always seek immediate medical attention if you or your child receives a bite to the following areas:
• The hands or feet
• A joint, tendon or ligament • The scalp or face
• The genitals
• The ears or nose
Dial 999 immediately to request an ambulance if your child receives bite wounds to their head, neck or face. These types of wound can cause high amounts of blood loss, particularly in young children aged 10 or under and babies, and may therefore require emergency treatment.
