INSECT STINGS
Treatment
• Remove the sting immediately
• Wash the affected area with soap and water
• Raise the part of the body that has been stung to prevent swelling
• Avoid scratching the area because it may become infected (see below)
• Keep children’s fingernails short and clean
• Visit your GP if the redness and itching gets worse or do not clear up after a few days
