AMPUTATIONS
• Turn off machinery, control the bleeding, call 999/112 and treat for shock
• Wrap the amputated part in plastic such as cling-film
• Wrap this further in a cloth such as calico triangular bandage
• Submerge this complete package in a container of ice
• Ensure it is clearly labeled with the casualty’s name
