4.2.University Library
4.2.1 Goals and Objectives
4.2.1.1.The library's ^aal is to support: the instructional, curricular, re
search and extension programs of the University through an or
ganized, relevant and fast delivery of information services.
4.2.1.2.To select and acquire library materials to complement the aca
demic and other concerns of the University.
4.2.1.3.To provide individual and group assistance to readers in the use
of die library.
4.2.1.4.To encourage reading habit of students faculty and staff by
means of current awareness services.
4.2.1.5.To develop competitive staff to be able to guidle students and
other researchers toward lifelong education.
4.2.2. Services
4.2.2.1.Technical Services. This service area is concerned with the acqui
sition, organization (classification and cataloging, etc) prepara
tion and preservation of materials.
4.2.2.2.Readers Services. The Readers Services is being supervised by a
unit head and is directly involved in serving library clientele
through its five main sections and branch libraries namely:
4.2.2.3.Circulation Section - follows the semi-open shelf system. It
houses and circulates the major collection/holding of the library
covering the different areas of discipline. Fiction books are also
