under strain, new conflicts erupt, and global
               challenges—from artificial intelligence to
               climate-driven migration—demand fresh
solutions. Yet Geneva’s legacy suggests that even
in times of crisis, dialogue and cooperation are
               possible.

The next decades will see Geneva continue
to serve as the nerve centre of practical
               multilateralism: shaping ethical rules for
               new technologies, coordinating humanitarian
               responses, advancing climate action, and
               defending human dignity.

In a world too often defined by division, Geneva’s
quiet yet powerful example remains essential: a
reminder that cooperation, though difficult, is
               possible—and indispensable.

               Conclusion
Over its 80 years of existence, the United
Nations has seen triumphs and failures. But in
Geneva, the organisation’s successes shine most
               clearly: eradicating diseases, protecting refugees,
advancing human rights, securing treaties, and
now leading the fight against climate change.

If New York represents the UN’s vision, Geneva
represents its work. And that work has changed
               millions of lives.

As the UN embarks on its ninth decade, the words
inscribed at the Palais des Nations resonate more
than ever: “Nations unies, unies pour la paix.”
