Lastly, we have air navigation service providers. More commonly referred to as ANSPs, they are companies or agencies that provide Air Traffic Control services to aircrafts. Most ANSPs are currently owned by the government of the country but ICAO recommends that ANSPs be separate from the regulator due to the possible conflicts of interests that may arise. They manage air traffic during all phases of aircraft operations to ensure the safe and efficient movement of aircrafts on ground and in the air. They have to maintain safe and efficient flow of air traffic at all times as well as prevent aircrafts from colliding with one another while flying in airspaces. Let’s find out more about these airspaces.
In Singapore, air traffic control services are provided by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS). It requires a high degree of alertness, confidence and decisiveness to become an air traffic controller as they will have to handle aircraft movements safely and efficiently.
